Lectures

We hold seven lectures a year, from September to April, on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm (talk 7-8pm, with a short Q&A afterwards) at AKS Lytham, Clifton Drive South, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, FY8 1DT. Tickets do not normally need to be pre-booked and are available on the door for £5 (free to members).

This year we will take a tour around the ancient Mediterranean, from taking a tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum to discovering the women of ancient Crete and spending time with Roman soldiers at Hadrian’s Wall, finding out why ancient stories persist today and how Athenian vase painters reflected and affected history, exploring the realities of Greek tragedy and uncovering the secrets of Delos with our President Professor Michael Scott. We hope there is something to interest everyone!
